Got the 2 disc releases for both movies at Target for $19.99 each, plus the $8 off and the $5 coupon (which was accepted with no problem for me).

I figure if I ever go 3D, then I can always re-buy TL if I like it (yes, I bought the sequel blind).

Talk about a hit movie. I had to go to SIX stores (3 Walmarts, 3 Targets) before I found just ONE copy of the original Tron on Blu Ray. The deal at Target is most definitely the only way to go. You'll spend half the cost to buy both and they are worth it. Watched the original Tron last night on Blu Ray and boy did they clean that one up! Looks fantastic. All the images are sharp and crisp. The clean up definitely enhances the effects and gives them new life. The movie looks timeless now. If your a fan of the original Tron, you will be blown away.

I also went the Target route since buying the two two seperate for $19.99 seemed like the best all around deal. You are also correct in that the original Tron on Blu-Ray is a huge sellout. I walked into Target this morning and no copies of Tron classic on Blu-Ray.

I inquired about a rain check and as the teller walked behind the stand to grab a rain check, saw one copy sitting under the counter and told me I could have the last copy. I don't know if it was being held for anyone or not (he didn't say) but I thanked him for it.

Picked up both at Best Buy for $37...and MIB41 is correct. The original movie looks and sounds freaking incredible.

I feel lucky I was able to get mine off the shelf. Yeah, I sampled Tron last night and it is a great transfer. I'm loving the embryonic CGI. I remember, before that, to me, computers graphics looked like Pac-man and thought the graphics in Tron were unbelievable. I know the CGI in that movie is child's play now but this is the movie that started it all.
