We need someone to get some 1/9 action going on this to go with our Mego and EMCEs. I can't wait for it.

You'll be waiting a long time. I've seen the apes and they're not "mego-friendly". The design is much much more ape-like than the human with an ape head approach. From what I've seen, you could make a custom mego of one, but it would pretty much require a custom body made specifically for those characters.

If you wanna tackle that, go for it. Personally, I have no interest in making customs or the film itself whatsoever.

The film's title is now "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"

Kinda clunky but I bet it sells it better.

SERIOUSLY? They are making a sequel to that thing? Obviously it was left with a cliff hanger but I thought it went over like a lead balloon. It was not a good movie. A sequel is just plain silly.

I MIGHT watch it when it comes to netflix.

It is completely unrelated to the Burton flick.

Yeah, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" is kinda clunky.

"Genesis of the Planet of the Apes" or something like that would perhaps have been better.

It's hard to figure out why the studio is ignoring the original look of the classic apes yet again. People want to see those apes rise again. Not this conceptual crap. I don't recognize this or the previous remake as any part of the true POTA saga.

The original film was a testament to state of the art effects, I'm not offended that they want to move forward on that. I just want the subject matter to get treated well, not a campy schlock fest like last time.

The thing about using real style apes is they're too small compared to humans.

It will be laughable if they made it that way.

Imagine "Clyde" from Every Which Way compared to Clint Eastwood.

                            Hmmmm....

Every time I see anything for this flick I keep thinking they're talking about a remake of "Time of the Apes."

                            *shudder*

The trailer is due to hit April 15th... But with all the jumping around of release dates, the name changes, etc. I'm having less and less faith in this film... I'm not saying I'll never watch it, but I'm in no rush for it to come out...

While it's true that real apes are a lot shorter than POTA apes, there are many real life chimpanzees that get to be over 5' tall when standing erect, and gorillas are equally as tall or taller when standing on two feet... So while "real" apes are smaller, they're not quite as tiny a lot of people think... (I think part of the extra small perception of apes comes from the fact that real apes used in TV shows and movies, etc. are infants and immature apes, not full sized adults...)
