    Koenig Question

I know that the CTVT black-sleeved Space: 1999 uniforms aren't entirely accurate to the Palitoy Koenig figures (or the show), but I'm having trouble finding a good close-up . . . are the turtleneck and sleeve stripe actually stitched-in black fabric on the Palitoy Koenig? Or is it more a printed/painted element on the fabric?

    Thanks for the help!

There was one recently on ebay and from that pic the neck looks like black fabric, can't tell about the arm.

Man, how I wish the CTVT uniforms were made like the original. That's the only thing stopping me from buying one.

Thanks Mike -- so here's a follow-up question: is the black stripe sewn into the sleeve, or on top of it? I'm trying to figure out how to best mod my CTVT uniform.

  6. What's the average price for one of these on the card?

I have my Koenig at home, but haven't looked at him for a while..

I thought the right stripe was screened-on the fabric, but I'd go with Mikey and say it's stitched into the sleeve, not on top.

Carded is over $200, minty loose ones have always gone for $100-150.

Actually the retro CTVT uniforms (for the re-issued original figures) are pretty dead-on with the original fabric and outfits.., other than perhaps the pattern being a bit off (a bit puffy in appearance here or there..). I know I've had the red astronaut outfit side-by-side and I couldn't even tell the difference if there isn't a tag.

I sold a vintage Alan Carter to a fellow on eBay and he complained that it was the reproduction suit. I didn't agree but I earnestly thought he received the vintage suit, so I refunded his money anyways.

To me it's the shiny new heads that kept me from buying CTVT; the vintage nude figures were still the best deal.

i have recently sold a koenig done what your looking into doing... i had a classic tv paul morrow top... i unpicked the red sleeve and took it off... made my own black sleeve and collar ..also the back stripe for the other sleeve..after a little time of sewing heres the results/i should had made collar a little smaller but i was happy to leave it at that.on the original koenig outfit the sleeve collar and stripe are all separate black material
the whole uniform is classic tv and the top i altered....click on thumb to enlarge

^^ Man, just adding the turtleneck to the CTVT uniform makes a world of difference!

    Thanks for the pics!
