Sheet Acrylic and a Strip Burner

    Hey all --

Back when I was in junior high, I took a plastics shop class where we made all sorts of really cool stuff out of acrylic sheets and rods for a semester.

I'm in the process of getting a display case set up for my Megos, and I suddenly have an idea for some display stands, but I'd need sheet acrylic to build them, and a strip burner to get the sheets to the right shape.

Anybody have access to this kind of equipment, or suggestions? This should be really simple to do, with the right tools and materials . . . I just don't have access to them.

    Appreciate the help,

    -- Pat

    You mean like Plexi-Glass ?

You should be able to get it at Home Depot or Lowes

I know you can get a couple of thickness' of plexi at Lowes. and they will cut it there for you. I do not know if they can cut into exotic shapes, or if they are limited to right angles on their cuts.

    ^^ TAPS is the best.
There is one by my house that I frequent and they are so helpful and insightful.
    The shop as it all.

I think there is a plastic as good as plexi but cheaper. Is it Lexan? Ranger3 on these boards would likely know.

I use acrylic for most of my stuff at LaserMego. I also have a strip heater. Let me know if I can help out.
