Halloween costumes that came in the box

I remember going one year as a Cylon and another as Boba Fett. The masks would be flimsy with an elastic string. I think the costumes were one piece made of really thin plastic or vinyl or something.

Scroll about one third of the way down! They also made R2D2, and the robot from the Black Hole and Twiki!

And further down, Warduke! Shogun Warriors! Evil Kneivel! etc....

Those monster ones are awesome and the Village People one is hysterical.

I wore a few of them for my first few Halloweens (early 80s). Masters of the Universe ones and I think I had a GI Joe one.

I wonder if any kids suffocated while wearing them, because they were absolutely brutal. Not only did they cut your breathing off, but the plastic and rubber bands on the masks would irritate your skin.

My mother used to buy me two of whatever character I was for Halloween. I'd wwear out the first before Halloween ever came.
The thing that bugged me on those costumes is that they always put a picture of the character that you were and bold letters saying who you were.
I always thought that more realistic costumes would be better.

I was very picky and I would not wear a costume that had the picture or name of the character on the costume. I knew who i was and thought everyone else ahould know. they didn't need to put a picture or name on the costume where the actual costume should be . . . . I know it's a little disturbing, but that's how I rolled

HAd DarthVader (no cape), Storm trooper, and Boba Fett.
Plastci Crotch ALWAYS split about 30 minutes into wondering the streets on Oct 31st..

I had a mail order PLAYSUIT of Superman. I ruined the cape . I wrapped it around an exposed lightbulb in the basement and it melted.
That morning I had seen Superman wrap the Sun in HIS cape on Superfriends :-(

The only store bought plastic costume w/ mask I ever had was the Bionic Woman. Although I did have a Collegeville kitten mask (sans costume) in kindergarten.

These old Collegeville and Ben Cooper costumes are some of my favorite things ever made When I was really young, I thought some of those monster masks were really frightening. The crummy plastic costumes... not so much, lol. Most of the time when I dressed for Halloween, I'd wind up just wearing the mask and we'd create a homemade costume instead.

  10. I have these.
