    Plaid Stallions Dine in style

TV trays will forever remind me of my grandparents, who despite having a dining room table that faced the television chose to sit in comfort while they dined and watched "CHiPs" reruns. All the time, the police scanner blared away....

We had woodgrain ones when I was little. When I was a little older and got a portable TV in my room, my mom let me keep one set up. We have some oak ones now, that seldom get used. I use mini trays in my room. I don't really eat in the kitchen or dining room much since mom died.

BTW...I really like the beach scene trays!

I just put my plate on my knees, don't need a tray for that, especially not one like this

If you think about it, these are a thing of the past, as the way to view videos (not just TV anymore) has gone to portable devices, so you bring the media device to your dining room table now rather than bringing the TV tray to where the giant console sat.

OMG, the police scanner!!!! My grandma had one of those too and it was on 24/7! What was the deal with those? I still don't get what they were all about or what the appeal was. It must have been an "old people in the 1970s" thing. Definitely generational.

My grandparents had a police scanner, and my aunt and uncle STILL DO!!! They will turn it down or off when we are eating family dinners though. My grandparents never would...

I wonder if Vincent Price endorsed those along with his fine art exclusives.

The TV trays we had as a kid I used for model making. I still have one of them and still use it. It has flowers on it. So 70's.
