Hmmmm....
Y'know; all things considered those are really good pics. Of WHAT is the question.
Whatever it is, it looks small. Like maybe around the size of a small kid. Shape-wise it looks like a sloth. Except there aren't supposed to be sloths in that part of the world. Could be a black bear. (Dunno 'bout the mange though: the fur looks too uniform for that.) In the first shot we don't get a clear look at the head; but you can see from the shadows that it's kinda big and round. Like a bear. The second shot seems to be kinda thin for a bear; especially around the hips, but there are a lot of shadows so it's tough to say. I'd think the bears would be fattening up this time of year.
Still; I'd put odds on "young bear." From the way it's rummaging around in the pics I'd bet getting some fur wouldn't have been too hard. I wonder if anyone did that.
Don C.
Can you explain what you mean by 'a suspected Bigfoot'? Do you mean they captured a specimen, took its blood sample and returned it to the wild? If they got close enough to obtain blood, why were no other tests or measurements taken, photographs snapped, hair samples analyzed, etc.?
I assume by 'neither man nor primate' you mean 'neither human primate nor non-human primate'. Alot of non-experts make this mistake.
Jeez Ant, I wish I were as flexible as you are... :D
This page at cryptomundo.com does an excellent job of superimposing the pic of the mangy bear (as provided by ABMAC a coupla pages back) over the Jacobs photo.

If there was any lingering doubt about what this thing really is, this page (IMO) abolishes it.

"The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow...How did it come to this?"
I think this stuff is kinda fun... I'd love to find out one day that there is an unclassified animal/creature that has been present among us undetected.
But Bigfoot does Pilates?
