Would you buy Hot Toys style figures at 1/9th scale?

Would you be willing to buy 8 inch cloth outfit action figures with the level of detail and accessories as you get with Hot Toys style figures?

What would you be willing to pay for this type of figure?

I'd love them in that scale, but sculpting and attention to detail would need to be of the same level.
    How about $40 a piece?
Somebody make this happen for me....

I would buy them too. But are'nt Hot Toys around $150-$200 each?
How could someone make $150 figure and sell it for $40 and stay in business? I am not sure that level of quality is possible at that ($40) price point.
But then again, I could be wrong.

$60, maybe, depending on the character.

If it were something I can not possibly do myself, I would buy in a heartbeat. Tops is $100. Also it depends on the character. If it were samurai or an ape, yesssssss....

Well, I think Hot Toys are overpriced. They go for the "limited edition + high price" formula. So these get sold out superfast, and then skyrocket on Ebay to $300-400 in no time.

I still believe in lowering your prices, and selling much more product to more buyers.
And that is why I think you can deliver a high quality figure for a lower price.

And as the question posed here was "Hot Toys at 1/9 scale", I do believe that $40 is a viable option.
ZICA is currently proving that this is possible indeed...

I think Zica is that alternative right now. But keep in mind Hot Toys have incredible bodies, many with life like skin. You pay for that too. So there will always be plenty of differences besides just scale.

Probably not. Once they get to a certain point they become non-Mego to me, even if still 8" tall.

                          I would have to agree with this. After a certain realism/price point, they cease to be toys to me and become nerd Hummels. Poseable? yes. But do the kids get to play with them - no. And that is what is cool to me about Mego toys;
The kid play factor is really high.

This is not to say that I think Megoish toys are required to look 'cartoony' or not lifelike, just that if they hit the hyper realism point they stop feeling like toys to me, and that loses the charm that I find in Mego.

I've paid 225 for a couple of Hot Toys Figures ..., and as low as 140 for 1. They are Far beyond worth it for my Buck, and will continue to do so with the characters I Enjoy.

I'd pay for that in This Scale Myself, However am Really not interested in almost all of Re-mego's character Selection thus far.

Zica's Buck Rogers can hang with Hot Hoys any day in my opinion.
