    Attack of the Mini Monsters

Remco Mini Monsters are an obsession of mine, the marriage of 3 3/4" Star Wars like figures with the Universal Monsters is in my humble opinion, perfection. I just recently tracked down the play case but bought a sealed one that I can't play with. I'd never punch out the cardboard pieces anyway.
What haunts me about this line is the fact that I passed up on one of the rarer pieces this past August at Wizard World. I took a photo but never asked price, arg! I hope to rectify this problem at the toyshow this weekend.

I had a friend up the street who had these, and the Playcase. As I recall, he didn't have Dracula or the Creature, so we used the Phantom for Dracula (before this, I'd never even heard of the Phantom of the Opera) and we used Star Wars Greedo (!) for the Creature.

I think my fond memories of these is why I dig Burger King's Kids Meal UM premium figures so much.

    Good luck on the Monsterizer!

Those are cool. I never even saw those when I was a kid. I wish I did, I would have been thrilled getting monster figures in the Star Wars scale.

BTW, is there a toyshow in Toronto or vincinity this weekend that I don't know about? Or are you travelling to a farther away one.

There was a set of these sitting in a Simpsons store by me at full pop up until 1989. That same store had clearance issues, next to the monsters were Ilia's from the first trek movie and Superpowers Darkseid, an entire wall of just him!

I'm going farther, there is also one in Buffalo this Sunday. I plan to try and hit that one as well.

Darn, darn darn...Thats the only Remco piece I still need to get. The Mini Monsterizer.

I remember my Mom getting these for me when they first came out. The good old Sears conveyor belt. After wearing them out my fantastic Mom would replace them with the glow versions. I remember the Monsterizer not Monsterizing them very well. The Large one would really get the dolls glowing but the smaller one just kind of made their foreheads glow. The strap never lasted long either. Still these are some of my absolute favorite toys from childhood.

I have great scans of the inserts if anyone needs them.

Yikes, I always seem to be out of the loop on toyshows. Where is the one in Buffalo going to be?

I got all my monsters and the playcase at Toys R Us on clearance. I can remember I used to like to drop the Creature from about a foot from the floor and the softer material his feet were made of gave him an effect like he had jumped on a trampoline. In fact my non glow Creature is missing a foot because of it, but it was fun back then.

Thanks, Brian! I believe I've been to a show there before.
