    Full service gas at $4.09

We went up to Cleveland yesterday for some after Christmas mark down shopping.Stopped at a Shell station for $3.09 a gallon gas.Was shocked when I saw they also offered full servise, haven't seen that in a long time, but at $4.09 a gallon for it who would pay it.Does any station near anyone else still offer full servise?

There was one in Georetown KY that advertised full service up until just a few years ago. I think they finally gave up during the big gas hike. That's the last one I saw.

I remember my mom ALWAYS got her gas at a full service station. When the the big convenient marts started coming in, the full-service stations began to fade...

there are a couple of car washes around where I live that offer it as part of the package and it is usually $ .50 or so higher than self service.

There's one about four miles from me on my way to work that's full service, and the price is the same as self-serve stations. It's a Sinclair station.

  5. Ridiculous! They TELL us that the prices are due to gouging in the Middle Eastern Nations, but then there is reality: American oil corporations are based on pure greed, simple as that.

One of our neighbors is from Pakistan, and he tells me that gasoline is as cheap as soda pop over there, so the gouging isnt the fault of the Middle Eastern suppliers...
Sort of like when they tell us that lettuce and certain produce will be priced through the roof due to things like weather conditions and soforth, when in actuality, much of the produce consumed in the US is grown in Mexico or in temperature controlled hothouses....I worked in the produce industry for years, and trust me, its all a giant scam, simply an underhanded and greedy method of charging more for fruits and veggies. "Uh, yeah, well there was a DROUGHT in Guam this season, so thats why we gotta charge $4 a pound for red grapes..yeah..thats it.."

Heres all I have to say about high gas prices:

I was surprised to see one recently and the price difference was minimal...great on a freezing snowy day.

I live right next to the Jersey boarder, so most stations have a full service pump (because Jersey is full service only)

If gas hits $5 gallon by end of 2011...expect to pay higher prices for EVERYTHING...plastics will have to go up in price....but food will take the biggest hit (it already has)

    Self-serve gas...
Not in Oregon. It's illegal to pump your own gas here. Unless you have a motorcycle(scooter) like I do. It's illegal to pick up or return the nozzle to the pump, but I put it back all the time so I don't have to wait for the attendant. I saw regular gas for $3.23 in Portland yesterday. I'm glad my tank only holds a gallon and a half.
