You can't throw a rock without hitting Ultraman and Kamen Rider toys in Asia, like you say, they are literally everywhere. I've always had a harder time finding Godzilla stuff in stores, he doesn't seem nearly as popular for kids, especially at times like these where there is a big gap between Godzilla films.

Vintage Toy Shopping in Hong Kong

I've spent a good chunk of the past two days exploring the 4 1/2 major toy malls, side street market stalls and a couple of stand-alone hobby/toy stores in the Kowloon/Mong Kok area (approx four block radius). It's overwhelming and the vintage stuff is quite astonishing. Ten years ago, Tokyo was way ahead when it came to vintage collectible shops, but the collectible hobby industry in Hong Kong has rocketed in the past decade from it's previous focus on scale models and garage kits.
I did my best to take photos, but many shops don't allow you to take pictures.
I made it back to Wan Chai today to pick up the two boxed vinyls, and they are holding a couple of other items for me.

I've got some cards and URL's of stores that I'll be sorting through and can share for those interested in vintage asian toys and custom stuff. Hopefully I can remember which ones are english-language friendly.Comment
