Delicious monsters that stay crunchy in milk

These cool BooBerry and Frankenberry puppets were in the 1977 Kenner catalog, which makes sense considering that Kenner was owned by General Mills. Booberry was my favourite cereal as a kid, they stopped making anything but Count Chocula here in the late seventies.

The Count was always my fave. Sometimes you can still find these during Halloween, or you can go to Hometownfavorites.com and get them. I don't like FrankenBerry and BooBerry anymore, they changed the formula. But I remember having that pic of BooBerry on a glow in the dark sticker.

I pick up a box of all three during the Halloween season every year. Just grabbed 3 yesterday. Now I'm set until next year.

Too bad that Fruit Brute ('70s) and Yummy Mummy ('90s) didn't last more than a year or so. And I'm still waiting for The Creature from Blackberry Lagoon.

I thought Sonny had his name back then. Didn't know they called him Cuckoo Bird.

We finally get all 3 Monster cereals up this way on a regular basis (Thanks you Wal-Mart) after a loooooong drought. It got so bad at one point during the late 90s I was having Frankenberry "imported" from my aunt in Pittsburgh. It was like gold!

I still say a prayer every night hoping Fruit Brute will make his way home to the Monster Cereal family.... (Yummy Mummy was just a pretender to the throne!)

I was a Frankenberry kid and my brother was Count Chocula all the way!

I have the bobble heads of all 3.

Yummy Mummy means something so different in Australia I don't even know where to begin.

I wasn't allowed to eat cereal like those as a kid , although I did get the occassional box of Fruity Pebbles (Flintstones cereal). I usually had Suger Crisp or Rice Krispies.
