Thread: Redbeard

We've been hesitant to update until we got some concrete evidence that the work needed to finish this project has been completed.

Since this project started, there hasn't been a week that has gone by that We haven't tried to get this project finished. We've been lied to, jerked around, and screwed on a regular basis and haven't had much recourse. We've spent countless hours on the phone and sent 100's of emails to the factory to try to get them to finish the work that we paid for. This has been like playing a chess game with all the pieces half way around the world. This is the stuff that keeps you up at night sick to your stomach.

The bad news: Our old factory has screwed us out of over $15,000 in unfinished product, $6000 in lost molds, not to mention $1000's in lost sales. We're a small business and can't afford to lose this much money. This situation has almost put us out of business.

The good news: We had no other choice but to contact another factory and try to salvage our molds and business. We have a new factory now that manufactures high quality 12 inch figures that are currently on the market. The new factory sent trucks to the old factory and seized all of our molds they could find, basically taking them by force. The new factory has polished all of our molds and made improvements on our body, clothes, and materials used to make our product. If you think our quality was good before, you haven't seen anything yet.

This is where we're at right now: The old factory has agreed to make right on some of their mistakes. The old factory was supposed to finish some heads and masks last week and ship them to our new factory this week. Some of these parts are to finish the CA Phantom and the DE Redbeard figures. We're waiting for confirmation from them saying that they are still on track for this to be completed. If they don't finish the heads and masks, or have lost some of the molds we're going to have to pay our new factory to remake the molds so we can complete this project and take care of everyone who has been patient and given us support throughout this mess.

We will make right on these orders even if we have to pay for the molds and manufacturing a second time. I will update you again as soon as I have some more information.

The main thing I want everyone to know is this has been our #1 priority throughout this process and we will take care of everyone who's ordered from us without without question.

    Thanks Jason (Castaway Toys)

Cheers Jason, for the update, as much as it would be cool to get these figures, I certainly dont want U to be out of pocket, Id rather have U lot around than lose U. If these do show up eventually, I will certainly enjoy them more, knowing the hardship U had to go through, to get them done. Take your time

Thanks for the reply Alex. Believe me no-one wants these figures done more than us. We're doing everything we can with the money we have available to get this finished and behind us. Every dollar we make goes back into the buisness to clean up all these messes from the old factory. We can't wait to get this taken care of so we can focus all our attention on new and exciting projects. Despite all the bad things that have happened I'm excited to be working with a new factory that can execute the quality we want in all our products.

No problem Guys, so U reckon, in about 6 months?, no problem, its just a case of renewing this post and wondering when, and just having a time frame in mind.

I don't expect it to take that long. I'll update again as soon as I hear back from the factory.

Cast-A-Way products is worth any wait. Just hang on tight and concentrate in your trademark quality product. Ah, and I have not forgotten that you had teased us with some announcements... When is it going to be?
