the premier epsiode was 90 minutes and the last half hour was when it got really interesting as Rick rode on a horse into Atlanta and ended up hiding in a tank while the zombie hordes ate his horse

AMC has already announced it will be back for season 2. pretty impressive after only 2 episodes. I really am liking this show

Ironically this is the only thing I will watch on AMC. I used to love AMC until they sold out and went to airing commercials during the movies. Can't wait for tonight's episode.

Isnt the Coma idea a rip off of 28 days later or is that a coincidence.

Coincidence. Looking at the releases and respective production cycles, not to mention the disconnect between the UK and rural Kentucky (internet aside), Kirkman's always insisted it was not any kind of rip-off.

Relative to this, Swamp Thing/Man Thing was much much less of a co-incidence given that the respective creators were roommates and both admit that The Heap was thier source material for inspiration.

I don't have Zombie burn out yet. Other trends ( especially in low budget inde films) have burned me out, serial killer, Lasbian Vampires etc.

Hush now! I will NEVER tire of Lesbian Vampires.

Zombies? Vampires? Virus? he mentions Aliens.

This short gave him the cred to sell the CFC on Cube, which could have easily been a Zombie Movie rather than a prison trap movie if not for the ingenious twist on the one-room no budget set-up.

I joked the backdrop could be Zombie apocolypse but the story is about a single mother tring to raise a son with no good male role models around.

I really like the detours they are taking from the comic book storyline. The way this week's stand-off concluded was a genuine surprise, and just adding much more layers to the character... we have much more insight into Andrea than we previously did (although it might be hitting us over the head with her romantic motivations).

I'm seeing quite a few similarities to BBC's Survivors series.

It's been picked up for a 2nd season of 13 episodes...unfortunately those may not materialize until Fall 2011.

There were only 6 eps in season 1 because once the project was greenlight AMC wanted it fast-tracked for a Halloween debut, thus the shorter season

I was watching Dawn of the Dead a while ago on AMC and they totally spammed the commerical spots with Walking Dead promos.

I'm talking spammed annoyingly bad.

It turned me off to even trying to watch it.
