Don't you love the variations of the Nigerian scam?

Here's one I got, masquerading as a latter from the USPS that is so official that it uses "to the tune of":

UNITED STATES * POSTAL INSPECTION SERVICE
PO BOX 555, NEW YORK NY 10116-0555

This is to notify you that we have intercepted your parcel from DHL COURIER SERVICE is making the delivery and we have stopped the delivery process for some security reasons stated below:

Our scanning system has detected that your parcel contains a confirmable CARD to the tune of US$1,500,000.00 USD.

Also for the Delivery of the Parcel to continue, you are in obligation to obtain from Spain, a Duly Sworn Affidavit from Spanish High Court which will back up the Origin of Fund. This is in line with the Anti-Terrorist Campaign which the USA Government has embarked on recently to protect our Territory from future attacks. You should therefore contact the sender of the CARD or the dhl Courier Agent in Madrid Spain to get the Sworn Affidavit for you while we wait to receive from you the Affidavit File Number to enable us forward your CARD to your address.

Below is his contact information. Note that the cost of the Affidavit is US$158 and do not hesitate to remit the amount to him.

    Name: Juan Guillermo
    Email:juanguillermo@gala.net
    Tel:0034 634 126 539

We shall then forward the CARD to you and you will be sure of a genuine CARD that is coming to you. We are doing this for your interest considering the rate which fraudulent and stolen checks/CARD are been sent to our innocent citizen that most times put them in problem. Always send your correspondence to our secure email: postal_inspector@post.com

Your urgent action on this notice will be appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    GUY COTTRELL
    Chief Postal Inspector

I especially love the "and do not hesitate to remit the amount to him."

Riiiiight. I sure won't hesitate. Because "GUY COTTRELL" told me so in broken English.

He's a Chief. He's got all sorts of authority and junk. So much so that the word CARD is always in CAPS. That means it important.

Just kneel. It's easier that way.

Yeah, it's horrible when things are sent to "our innocent citizen that most times put them in problem". That's dispicable!

Obviously this is a phony. The only true one out there is the U.K. National Lottery which I personally have won over twenty-seven times...should be gettin' my cash anyday now!

    Here's my favorite part,
to the tune of US$1,500,000.00 USD.
    .

Because Postal Officials are such hipsters, they usually estimate amounts to the nearest tune.

There's so much scamming going on they need to do what the old West did to stop people from constantly stealing horses -- ie making scamming punishable by death.

Check out this priceless email exchange between some 419 scammers, and a couple of guys in the UK who scam them. It's a bit long, but it kind of made my day when I came across it.

I just got this one the other day!
I never had this one before. Yeah, I seen the "nigeria" email addy in the body.
I still called the police to be sure. They chuckled with me when I mentioned what I was accused of.
Still a freakish email to wake up to!
