I spent the morning in Bowling Green trying to track down a copy of the new re-release of "Man of 1000 Faces". I had no luck on that movie, but did pick up a couple of other films: Vincent Price in "The Last Man On Earth" and the new re-release of "Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster". Luckily, I can always get the Cagney film online

I ordered a copy of "Man of a Thousand Faces" from deepdiscount.com, and finally got to watch it last night. It had been awhile since I'd seen it, but overall it was entertaining. Of course, as an actual biography, it doesn't compare to the Chaney biography that was included on the TCM Lon Chaney set.
I'd been hearing over at the Universal Monster Army that Big Lots has just gotten in a bunch of movies at $3.00 a pop. I looked last week and didn't find much worth having, but this week a new display was up and chock full of movie goodness. I picked up eleven movies including:
      Needful Things
      Jack the Giant Killer
The Hound of the Baskervilles (Dudley Moore/Peter Cook version)
Making Mr. Right (it's not a monster movie, but I like it)
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
The Fall of the House of Usher (Vincent Price rulez!)
The Ghoul (Boris Karloff rulez more!)
      A Bucket of Blood
      Konga
      The Dunwich Horror
      Swamp Thing
And at $3.00 a pop, you can't go wrong. Hit your local Big Lots before they're all gone!

Just saw 'The Atomic Brain' (1960) a few days ago from my nieces' AMC Collection DVD. Cheap bad film about these 3 young women being considered as 'body replacements' for this wealthy old spinster to have her brain transplanted into. It was alright for me, but my wife, hoping to make lots of MST3K comments, actually had bad dreams about it. Oy..

I've been on a Godzilla kick the last few weeks. I picked up the following from DeepDiscountDVD.Com:
                  Godzilla Raids Again
Invasion of Astro Monster (aka Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero)
                  Godzilla Vs. the Sea Monster
                  Son of Godzilla
I also retired a few old VHS movies and upgraded to DVD:
                  Shock Waves
Sherlock Holmes in Dressed to Kill
Fantasia (not exactly horror, but it does have some cool stuff in it)

Other than the Mummy, my friend gave me "Frankenstein Must be Destroyed" and another friend gave me "The Bermuda Depths" recently.

I need to start watching DVDs.

I picked up a copy of the new "Nightmare Before Christmas" 2-disc DVD set last night. The second disc includes the Tim Burton shorts "Vincent" and Frankenweenie". Grab your copy now before Halloween gets here!

I took my daughter to see "Nightmare" when it debuted. She was about three and slept through most of it I picked it up on VHS for her about a year later and she loved it. Of course, your mileage may vary.

My kids send mixed signals as to what they're afraid of, Mad Monster Party is OK, Scooby Doo can scare my daughter.
