    Hasn't been opened, right!

The seller sincerely believes this figure hasn't been opened. Well, the jokes on him.

While I am always willing to conjecture "factory error", you can actually see the seam where the bubble was lifted in this case.

It's a reseal alright, but the seller doesn't actually say it's never been opened

I know it's not in the auction, and I never said it was. He or she told me it hadn't through Ebay messages when I told him/her that it had.

Aha, gotcha. Well, I hope you told him it was in fact a reseal, but somehow I doubt he believed you

I initially told him I thought it had been opened and he came back with no it hadn't, so I left it at that. He'll see when he doesn't any offers close to what he's asking.

Actually somebody I know saw this thread and offered this:

What appears to be the telltale litho tearing may actually be flashing along the edge of the plastic that is sealed to the card. It may indeed be factory sealed.

It is possible the flash is picking up the bubble's uncut edges making it look like an obvious reseal, bad photography hurts auction results.

Flashing on the edge of the plastic, I think, would be more of a straight line unless it was a very rough cut on that edge.
