What do you think of Aflac

Other than funny commericials,is it really good to have?To offset our crappy health insurance at work the Aflac guy is here today. It sounds to good to be true. They say we'll give you 60 bucks to go to the doctor 75 if you need something else.Sounds like they just have money to give away.Is it really that good?Anybody ever have it or better yet use it.Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I had it at my old job and used it several times. I had the doctor's visit coverage, but also the hospital visit (maternity) coverage for my wife which paid us a $1000 per child. If I had the extra funds I would have signed up for it again, but right now I can't do it.

we had it when our first son was born and it came in handy to cover some additional/unexpected bills.

My wife has it through her work. I used it when I had surgery on my knee recently and paid for a lot of medical that my insurance didnt cover. Wish she had the maternity coverage cause that would come in handy right about now. I think total for my knee we got somewhere around $2000 paid out.

Our company doesn't cover short term disability (maternity leave, etc.). I haven't personally used it but know a few women who picked up the insurance since they were trying to start a family. They told me they thought the rates were reasonable and they did pay out for the coverage.
