Dinah-mite, interested in collecting
Hello everyone,
I have showed no interest in collecting Dinah-mite related thing's at all simply because, well, they are not very man orientated
. However, after looking around the Mego Museum, I must say, Dinah-mite is really impressive, not because I like girl orientated figures and not even because I like the look's of the things, but simply because the out-fits for Dinah capture the pure essence of the 70's (and the 60's too I think, there is a Hippie outfit).
My question is, how much does dinah-mite collecting set you back? WGSH can consume your entire income for example, but AJ is still cheap as if it were still the 70's. Is Dinah-mite stuff 'AJ cheap' 'WGSH expensive' or some where in between?
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Most of her stuff is only slightly more expensive than AJ's, although there are some pieces that are rare enough to justify big prices.

I knew you would be the first one to reply to my question ABMAC.
Thanks for the help, I had a feeling that she would cost around the same price as AJ, after all she is basically just AJ gone female. I understand some things would be a lot more costly than AJ, a boxed Don for example.

I love Dinah-mite, somehow I missed out on her growing up. Her outfits are cool and I love the scale.
You can get a boxed Dinah-mite for around $26.00 - $35.00 double that for a African American Dinah-mite. I think the outfits aren't listed on e-bay as often as AJ. Some outfits I have never seen. Loose figures are fairly cheap. I have about 6 loose and 2 boxed. She can be very addictive.
I have never seen a Don figure, on e-bay.

I've seen a few loose Dons on eBay that I felt were real. They're almost always misidentified as Superman or AJ, if they're identified at all.
Dinah-mite's street clothes are a big part of why I collect her. I wish they'd made street clothes for Don, too.

Ant (Abmac) is the resident Dinah Mite expert Gabriel. I blame him for starting yet another obsession for me. She is about the only girl (action) figure I have ever gone for...
Watch closely z3zep, there may soon be a Don for sale on Ebay

I've seen more of her playsets on eBay than outfits.

It seems that way sometimes. Playsets tend to get relisted a lot because clueless sellers price them too high.

Dinah-Mite is definitely one of the most interesting lines Mego made. She and AJ really set the stage for the rest of the 8 inch lines. They had it all, Playsets, vehicles, figure variations, accessories and outfits. It's great to see more people coming to appreciate Dinah Mite. Welcome to the madness.

I'm a proud collector of DM. It's been fun trying to get enough loose figures to display her outfits on. She has so many. I'm still way behind on them, especially the later and harder to find outfits. She does have some cool playsets and accessories. I have most of her stuff including a Don MIB, the Palomino Horse and the Campmobile. She is very addictive.
One thing I wanted to know is did the peace belt come on the black DM as well as the regular figure? I got a loose piece belt in a lot and want to put it on a black DM if it's appropriate.
