    C3PO carrying case

Hi everyone!! I hope someone can shed some light on a recent purchase I made at a yard sale:

I never had the 3PO carrying case released in 83 with the Jedi title attached to it...I do kbow that it had a shiney metal finish.

I picked up a dull plastic one at a yard sale....I knew they released these when the new wave of hasbro stuff came out in the mid 90's....BUT the one I purchased says :

    c LFL 1983
    c CPG Products Corp. 1983
    Ny its division kenner prod
    Cincinnatti, Ohio 45202
    pat no. D251, 627

so is it a vintage 1983 toy or not?? It also talks when you touch the mouth....and the eyes light up.....any ideas?

Nope, unfortunately that's the modern C3PO case. Kenner reused the molds....but altered it for the talk feature.

I had a feeling that that may have been the case. oh well.... I am surprized that they didn't have to put an updated production date on it as well.....

and it was hasbro by this time, no?

The real laugh is that hasbro reissued the vintage vader case!! As a star wars collector, I had 9 vintage ones at one time. I couldn't sell MINT ones at toy shows for $10.

lol I know, i've sold lots on ebay with that case an when it ended the winners usually tell me to toss the case so the shipping would be cheaper
