Toys2Cool & Global Observer; You guys saw Bigfoot!?!?! Tell the story!!!! What did you see!?!?!?!
"The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow...How did it come to this?"
I saw a Platypus. Really rare since they are too these days, and very shy animals.
Well, once I saw a baby deer come down out of a residential area, hop across freeway traffic and then onto the overpass where I was walking. I tried to chase it but it was really fast. By the time I got off the overpass and rounded the corner it was gone.
Then another time, when I got off the bus returning from a toy show, a saw a turkey running down the street! No lie, a real turkey! A guy driving passed me in his car pulled over and asked, "Was I dreaming or did I just see a turkey?" If I wasn't loaded down w/ toys, I would have tried to follow it.

"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I saw lots of wild animals on a safari. I don't know how rare they are though. I saw lions, cheetahs, wildebeasts, lots of different types of gazelles, giraffes, zebras, hippos, elephants...baboons...leopards...cape buffalo...

Saw a bald eagle last Sunday morning, at the lake. They seem to be making a come-back here in Kentucky, much like the black bear.
We have a pretty good elk herd here in the mountain section of the state, and turkey sightings are an every day thing.

It's always surreal when you see wild animals in populated areas. I live in the Twin Cities, and this last spring I was walking through a large cemetery and saw four or five big grey turkeys waddling around, at very close proximity. Then, one evening about a month ago I was reading out in my backyard, and I noticed with my peripheral vision that my neighbors tree was... moving. I looked over and saw a huge raccoon scaling it, followed by a bunch of baby raccoons. They got to one of the lower branches, huddled up, and then the mother raccoon just stared at me. Another neighbor was around and I showed him, and he said they crawl out of the sewers.
As for rare... there's this cool albino squirrel I see traipsing along the power lines in the alley. Does that count?
I have wild turkeys crossing through my yard most every day. whole families of them
