Old School Movie Spider-man is out of work!

But I'm making him anyways before the reboot movie comes out.



Thus far it's the hardest thing I've attempted to do. I can see why the original Mego Spider-man didn't have the webs on his head painted. It's tough work painting each of the individual webs!



Luckily the movie Spider-man mask-webs are in relief and I just used a microbrush to put the silver lines on after my initial attempts to "dry brush" them on were not so great. I've got one more of these heads that I'm going to do as the black costume. I've also got a few other Spider-man heads that are going to be way harder to do because they don't have the raised webs like this head does. Need to get better at painting heads before I tackle those ones.

I also realized the red I initially used for the head was too intense compared to the costume, so I had to go in a dull the red on the head down a bit so it would match better. Not perfect, but still working on it.

That's pretty good. I think that's the first time I've seen the webbing done in white/silver. Nice.

The suit and head come from megowgsh/reproheads/Austin.

My quick webcam pic does not even begin to do justice to the detail and texture of the suit. I've got dozens of different reproheads suits, and they are all mostly brilliant, but the spidey movie suit is in another league entirely. By far my favourite. I'll need to see if it comes in black like Spider-man 3 before I start painting the other head black.
