Thread: magazine article of the 70's

  1. magazine article of the 70's

I have been looking for a magazine article that was published in the late 70's in something like Better Homes and Gardens, or Good House Keeping that had a really cool pictorial on making dioramas or playsets for your Super Hero figures or Star Wars figures. It featured a full gotham city made from cardboard and Hoth playset made out of styrofoam.

Anyone else remember this and or know where I might find it again, I can't for the life of me figure out what the real magazine was.

I don't think I ever saw that, but it sounds awesome! Since The Empire Strikes Back came out in 1980, maybe it probably came out in the early 80s rather than the late 70s. If you're looking for it on google, that might help.

(looks like palitoy and I posted at the same time)
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

  4. BAAAAHHH, thats totally it.
    Thanks a ton.

    Hmmmm....

The Hoth and Dagobah plans were in Wonan's Day too.... and they're on line SOMEWHERE but I can't remember where. (There's also a wooden "Outer Space Station" plan set for 3.5" figures.)

Poor kid with the Hoth playset, there is 2 ways to look at this.
Like now looking at it as an adult that's just cool as hell, but being 9 years old in 1980 it would've went like this when his friends showed up to play,

"How come your hoth playset is made out of styrofoam and junk? I got the real one for christmas. Don't you have any ships big enough for your men to fit in instead of those little ones? I gotta big snowspeeder and a taun taun"
