TV shows you didn't like - but now you do

Some of my favorite old TV shows I didn't like when they first aired ... Reasons vary from me thinking they were boring or I just couldn't get into them (at the time).
My partial list of shows I like/love today but didn't like when they first came out.

    Columbo
Liked the NBC Mystery Movie intro but thought the show was boring.

    CHiPs
At the time I considered CHiPs a "girls show" because of Ponch

    Good Times
It seemed to always be on opposite of Happy Days so I always missed it.

    Banacek
    See Columbo

    Rockford Files
At the time I thought it was boring

    Starsky & Hutch
    See Rockford Files

    Space 1999
I used to watch it, but I thought it was boring as hell

Just a few off the top of my head.

    How about you ?

As a small child I HATED Star Trek....primarily because an older cousin used to "watch" it when we would visit (he actually had his nose buried in the back of the couch as he often took an after dinner nap ) and we weren't allowed to change the channel.

I also didn't like the original Star Trek much when it first came out...it was during ages of 3-6...and it was way too grown up for me...lol. I much preferred Lost in Space at the time.

Outta Everything listed in the Thread, ... The only thing I ever Watch was Star Trek the Next Generation ..., and I seen every Episode too, I believe, but don't ask me to name them, because I have no Clue.

I didn't like the Bernie Mack Show ...., But then really sorta got into it recently in Syndication. There's some funny stuff there...., I don't watch much TV.

I know there's a Ton of Crap I liked as a Kid,... That I can't even Watch Now, due to Cheese, or Time Stamped Material.

For the longest time, I couldn't get past the opening titles of Green Acres. then, I finally watched it and thought it was terrific.

I ignored "The Sopranos" because I have this weird thing about waving off of things that everyone seems to bandwagon...unless I was in on it from the beginning.

Well, I didn't have HBO when it first started and everybody was just going on and on about it.

When I did get HBO, around season 5, I softened a bit (Steve Buscemi. Robert Loggia...I'm liking this a little bit).

Then, because of the way they ran the seasons, I forgot all about it. When A and E starts running them again, I get to watch it from the beginning and I fall in love with everything about it.

Now, I have HBO on demand and the editing of the naughty bits for the A&E version does not take anything away from the story. Great series. Great stories. Great production value, actors, writing...everything about this series makes it my favorite drama ever.

    I'm 100% with saildog.

When Sopranos first came out I thought it was "Goodfellas" the TV show and the psychiatrist angle seemed like it was going to be really silly. When I caught glimpses of it it looked cheesy because I just didn't understand it.

Then right around season 5 I stopped getting cable and a friend loaned me the DVD box sets. I was pulled in right away - now it's probably my all-time favorite show. It's like the perfect snapshot of the time we live in - amazing stuff.
