I got the art printed on adhesive vinyl at a sign shop. Looks phenomenal. A huge glossy sticker.

But oh man, this is seriously challenging. Getting it to spread perfectly flat over large and hard to reach surfaces is next to impossible. It is not too bad looking...I'm sad that the art for the back end went on crooked, but I can live with it.

Getting all the stripes to line up on the outside is going to be a severe challenge...

Nerve wracking, but kind of amazing.

          Definitely has that retro feel.

Well, I got the graphics applied and mostly I'm thrilled. There's a certain amount of air bubbles that get under the decal that I can't seem to avoid, so the surface isn't as flawless as in my dreams, but overall, this looks like a commercially made printed vinyl playset.

On to the floors, baggage compartments and chairs!

Looks terrific, Scott! Re: the bubbles, if you can "push" the air bubbles to a non-obtrusive place, or maybe towards the edges, use a pin and CAREFULLY make a tiny hole on the bubble, then push the decal down. The air from the bubble should escape. Only drawback is you'll have a tiny pinhole in the decal, but it shouldn't be real noticeable. If you can't move the bubbles, make a tiny pinhole for each bubble, then push the decal bubble down.

I've used this technique on other projects with great success - just have to be very careful and only make one tiny hole per bubble.

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Thanks for the advice, Tim, thatt's actually exactly what I have been doing! There's just so many of them! I'm hoping if I try it again I can find a way to improve my technique. I want to find out if there might be some more forgiving materials. Seems like something a little thicker and possibly less intense adhesive might have better results.

I've heard of using dish-soap but haven't tried it myself:

I tried water, didn't know about the dish soap. I actually feel like the water made it worse, but maybe I didn't do it enough. I think an extra set of hands would have helped, it's an awkward thing to do.

2 years later... It is like a Lost "flash forward"!

I so admire the dedication to this project.

You may have posted about this before, but did you do something different to your Jack? He looks better than I remembered...
