    King Kong Colourforms

As much as I'm a monster geek, I bet the Sesame Street was way more funner.

My friend Laura had the Raggedy Ann set.

I loved colorforms (never had any of those in the pic) but what i didn't like about them was after a few uses they never seemed to stick well anymore and always fell off the little black cards that you used to store the pieces on when not in use, too.
Even being careful to put back all the pieces; you sometimes ended up losing a few because they slid around in the box.
I'm guessing complete used colorforms sets are uncommon?

Oh I had, and i think still have, the KING KONG colorforms! on one side was the jungle with the giant doors you could open and when you flipped it over, there was the top of the twin towers in Manhattan. That was an awesome set.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

I would have gone ape over the King King set

Rich, I have a lot of my original colorforms as a kid with all of the pieces, but you are right, they do not stick very well at all after a few uses. I think it had to do with air and oils from one's hand. I remember as a kid I used to take a damp paper-towel and wipe the back of them and they would work better. I think a teacher at school did that with a classroom set and I picked-up on it. Due to age, the plastic now doesn't lend itself to sticking very well on the sets I have but my daughter still enjoys them.
              It's all good!

Maybe try some warm water and dish soap?

I've been afraid to actually as the plastic doesn't seem as flexible as it once was, but I'll try a few pieces and see what happens.

                    Colorforms! True awesomeness.

I had that King Kong set as a kid... really loved it.

                    Also had a Superman one.

                    Good stuff.

I found out about Kong's existence by accident. I saw it in Zayres (prob 1979 or 80), but someone broke the box open and stole the kong pieces. I wanted the set anyway ,but my mom said no

I never saw that colorform set anywhere again. Perhaps they did not make to many of them?

I remember getting it not long after the movie came out... But then I didn't see it many stores after that.
