How in the world did you attach a third leg and arm?

I used a dremel to cut out a similar hole in the center of the chest for the arm and the same for his extra leg in his butt and then using spare parts attached and glued each of them to the body. The extra pieces don't have as much range of motion as they should, but considering how this was made they are close enough

Yes, he is actually very tall. It was very hard to find a good selection of images on the internet and even watching the Animated series DVD's that I have they don't really show Arex standing full shot much. I also have a Star Trek comic that has Arex pictured in it and used some of those images to go by as well.
Here is one of the pictures I used as reference from the comic:





I have ordered some black Plasti Dip and will try dipping his pants in that to give it that screen accurate smooth shiny black look.

They make him taller too.

Yeah, they always steered away from having to animate Arex walking for obvious reasons. Somewhere I have a 1970's Lincoln Enterprises printed cel of Arex, a full length shot.
