    Name a 70's spiders attack movie ....

Was just watching Kingdom of the Spiders the other day (the one with Shatner) and kept thinking I kind of remember another cheapo 70's low budget spider attack movie.

Anybody else remember this other one ?
If so what was it's name ?

      Hmmm,

      I looked it up.

Not 100% sure that was the one I was thinking about ... I could be mixing this plot up with a different movie but I kind of remember them getting all the spiders in a warehouse and freezing them at the end.

      Is that this movie ?

Haha. I remember a boy taking me to see Kingdom of the Spiders at the movies, hoping I would be so scared I would hug him for comfort (he told me this later) but I just cracked up...I think he was way more scared that I was.

There was a Dan Curtis production/tv movie called Curse of the Black Widow in 1977 on ABC.It was about a woman who was bit by a black widow that was cursed by an indian shaman and the womans sister discovers her sisters secret after she sees her transform.Kinda goofy but a fun flick. Not too much into monster or horror movies but I thought it was cool.

            The only ones that come to mind right away are ;
Kingdom of the spiders you mentioned
Horror on spider island from (62 or 66 I can't remember)
            Tarantula from 55
And Eight legged freaks from 2000

Those are the only spider movies I remember the rest are all ant movies...

What about "Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo"?

Came out in 1977, featuring -

Claude Akins, Charles Frank, Deborah Winters, Bert Remsen, Sandy McPeak, Chief Beasley, Pat Hingle, Tom Atkins, Howard Hesseman and more.

              (thanks IMDb!)

Man, I remember seeing the trailer of that film when I was a kid and wanting to see the film soooo bad, it looked awesome to my 10 year old eyes. When I finally saw it years later (ok, it was the MST3K version), I found out what a cheap looking affair it was.

Glad I could help. I actually own this on DVD. Haven't watched the whole thing yet. It's on my shelf next to "Kingdom of the Spiders".

Kiss of the Tarantula was filmed in my hometown of Columbus, GA in the mid 70s.

I've just started watching Tarantula: Deadly Cargo on youtube.com
I'm on the third section now. I have to say one thing...
I hate the people of Finlayville!
I have a feeling that the makers of this film had no idea how irritating
the townspeople were. It's not generally a good idea to make your
future victims idiots or the viewer tends to become disinterested.
If the filmmakers did know, I can only assume they were hoping
that we would hate them so much that their deaths could not come
swiftly enough. If this was the case, the movie is working perfectly.
They are a real pack of lazy imbeciles. At least so far

^I enjoyed that one. Wasn't June Allyson in it?

I've always been a Curtis fan, even at his cheesiest.
