Very cool article. Amazing that after it's initial success, no one bother to keep him preserved.

It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.
I'd rather preserve real great whites...

Whether or not the movie comes out, I wonder what will be done w/ Bruce the 4th? He needs to be put in a movie museum or something.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I would have definitely snatched Mr Jaws had I spotted it myself...worth a ton now.
that's cool, I can't believe it was just sitting there

Anyone read the last paragraph from the article?
Tracy Morgan as Quint? Hey, I love Tracy, but c'mon! How is this not a sign of the Apocalypse?Bruce's discovery couldn't come at a better time. There's talk that Universal might be considering a 3D "Jaws" remake -- with comedian Tracy Morgan in the shark-hunter role. Perhaps Bruce will find his way onto the silver screen once again.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
Thanks for the heads up on this thread MIB!
One of my good friends assisted with this "Find Bruce" project. We JAWS fans have known about that shark for years though. We've coined him "Junkyard Bruce". He is not the screen-used shark, he is a duplicate made from the same mold. The screen-used Bruce is long gone and has been since even before Jaws 2 was started...it was trashed on the backlot by 1977 and it, as well as the Orca, rotted away at Universal. Spielberg used to go sneak onto the Orca and eat his lunch. So Bruce being trashed, Roy Arbogast, Joe Alves, and Bob Mattey made another shark for Jaws 2, called Brucette. Here's the actual audio show of this adventure to "find Bruce" that that article refers to; Arbogast and Alves came along for verification...it's only 8 minutes long but it's pretty well-narrated and there's a really cool slideshow with some SUPER RARE pics from the making of the movie as well as a pic of "Junkyard Bruce"...

Also, please note: the pic that article is using is NOT of the original Bruce...that's a pic of Bruce IV from the terrible Jaws The Revenge! LOL!

I'm surprised they destroyed Bruce, well 3 Bruces, and that the 4th one gets no respect either. Then again, it's Hollywood, they have zero respect for anything. Even the famous Hollywood letters were almost taken down

I remember that one at Universal Studios! We have a pic of him in the old family vacation album. We went to Universal Studios quite a few times when I was a kid.
