Apes Attacks (Series 1) Rare POTA Knockoffs

These were produced in 2001 for FunTastic Toys. There is no artwork on the back of the card, only a small sticker listing a UK address. I bought these on Ebay from a British woman in 2001. There doesn't seem to be much information about these figures on the internet. I'll post some pics of the series 2 figures soon.

The one with the red hair and horns is my favorite.

That's just what I thought. They look like a cross between He-Man and POTA or Astro Apes.

I've never seen that top row of figures before. Dang it! I thought I owned the complete series. I sure wish I could track down that top row.

Oh man.... never seen like that before, it's great to let us know. Thanks for posting the photos!

BTW, I checked them on bay... there's no Apes Attacks packages, are they super rare?

Yeah, you almost never see these anywhere. I bought a bunch of them in 2001 from a seller in England. I have 4 complete sets of the second row figures, plus 2 complete sets of the third row figures. All MOSC. I also have a few singles available. They're really well constructed, not cheap dollar store quality. I'm not aware of them ever being sold at retail in the U.S., but it's a possibility. There just isn't much available information on these figures.

I've never even heard of them. They look really interesting! Any close up pics?

EDIT: After Googling "Apes Attacks" for pics, it brought me back here to the Museum, with some great pics. It's funny--I can see this one is Ceasar or that one is Ursus, but some of them like the cyborg or the one with horns kind of throw me. They look really cool, though! I'm kind of surprised they are so unknown.

I recently saw some loose ones on ebay. Didn't know what they were though. I think they were all in the UK.
