Thread: Superman/Don head: To repaint or NOT to repaint?

Head Superman/Don head: To repaint or NOT to repaint?

I recently got an unmarked Superman/Don head off of ebay and it is pretty ok, except for the dreaded hair rubs.

Other than that, there's no greying, greening, or other kind of cosmetic damage.

Should I repaint him or not? It wouldn't take a lot of paint; just a smidge at the center curl, the left eyebrow, and a few strands on his head.

    Any ideas?

I would, as long as you aren't going to sell it all snidely whiplashesque!

I got a green arrow and the headpaint was terrible, then zip zip, he is done. never even thought about it twice, if it bugs you enough to mpost about it, then it Will sit there mocking you.

I have NO intentions of selling this puppy. He is going to be part of the BSG crew that I am putting together.

What kind of paint do you recommend? I have no idea about paint brands, and I am not about to use magic marker of any kind.

Change for 2 cents? Is the ha'penny still legal?

Thanks for the advice. I'll get one of my Sharpies ready.

I used a sharpie once, an it ran into the plastic and bled over time, would not reccomend it.

NO SHARPIE!!!!!!! It will bleed and soak into the rubber. It'll eventually spread and look horrible.
You shouldn't use the head for a BSG custom. Use a regular superman head. This head is worth something on it's own and a regular superman head isn't.
    Just no sharpie.

Does it count if you seal it with matte varnish spray?

I was thinking the same thing. If this is a confirmed Don head then don't do anything to it. A few minor head rubs aren't that bad on a rarer head and give it a bit more authenticity. Pick up an old Superman head for $1 and sell the Don head if you don't want it.
