Definitely not an offsides. South Africa looked to have a defender ON the goal line. You can't be offsides on that play.

That said, Mexico had some other chances they didn't make good on.

Sorry but it was offside, there has to be two players between the mexico player and the goal line when the ball is played to him and there was only one as the goalkeeper had come out for the cross.

You are correct. I keep thinking its one player, but it is two. I shouldn't forget about the keeper (being one myself ).

I think a tie was pretty good for Uruguay. Holding back the defending champs... frustrating them in the first half, hitting back as hard in the second (to the point of receiving a red card!)...

Not to bad for an opener.

Mexico v South Africa... not a bad match, and it was downright friendly compared to the knock down yellow card fest that was the Uruguay v France game.
