Question I Drink Your Blood and Cannibal Holocaust

    Hello,

    Any one else seen these?
Uncut there are very good movies. In particular Cannibal Holocaust which is a very well done movie which carries the strong message that man has not evolved despite all his technology, the makers of the film where sent to jail for animal cruelty and they were accused of murder for making the film, so you know it's good!.

I Drink Your Blood (A grind-house releasing) is a bit b-grade but still, it is an interesting horror flick, has any one else seen either of these? I ask because everyone I have spoken to about them has had no idea what I was talking about.

"I drink your blood" used to be on a double bill with "I eat your skin", right?
MY buddy goes on and on about Holocaust but I've never seen it.

CH is a horrible. It's barely one step up from snuff. When they kill that poor rat thing I wanted to beat the **** out of the director. Still it's one of the better late 70's early 80's Phillipinos in Beatle wigs as jungle cannibals where we kill real animals movies.

No, but I have seen Zombie Holocaust, which is really more cannibals than zombies. I could never bring myself to watch CH because of the animal cruelty thing.

I've seen CH (and I like it) and it does have a sorta snuff feel to it, but remember, it's just a movie. OK, there's some animal cruelty in it, but if think beyond that it's quite an enjoyable horror flick

I think that CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST is the best of the Italian cannibal films. Well done effects, great location footage, and a very bleak, nihilistic feel to the whole thing, which as a complete counterpoint has a wonderful musical score by Riz Ortolani (IMO one of Italy's best film composers. But he's no Morricone of course). A cool performance by Robert Kerman (aka porn actor R. Bolla, of Debbie Does Dallas fame) is icing on the cake. The animal death footage always gets criticized, and there is really no way to defend it of course, but I do believe that it helps add a bit of realism to the whole film. The viewer might find himself thinking, even if just for a moment, "God, if that animal footage is obviously real, who knows what else is!"

The Grindhouse Releasing DVD set is excellent, with tons of great extras. It even allows an option to watch the film without the animal death footage, for those who don't want to see that.

I am glad to hear that some of you have seen them, some people think Im some kind of freak when I mention them, especially 'I Drink Your Blood' as it sounds like some kind of snuff film.

When I bought the film, I didn't know what to expect. I did not like the animal cruelty one bit and it kind of put me off the film. There is an intersting back story about that whole film.
There is a scene where a young girl is found naked and impaled on a pole. The director explained that the girl was sitting on a bicycle seat and had a piece of balsa sticking out of the top of here mouth. The problem is that many people tried to recreate that gag and found that no one was able to sit motionless like the girl did and to this day, no one has been able to locate that young girl to validate that she is still alive.

Here is a little history on the film.
