A 33 year old mystery solved

In kindergarten (which was 1974), I played with a type of weird toy where the figures all connected, for hours at a time. I've been trying to figure out what they were ever since with no luck, so I just figured they were education toys produced by some anonymous company. Nope, they were produced by Mattel in 1969 and called TOG'L, kind of a weird precursor to the Micronauts. One childhood mystery solved, 1,200 to go......

oh awesome!!!! I've been trying to find out what those were also. I never saw the figures, but my grandma had the basic blocks that she had for all us grand kids to play with when we went for a visit. She may have had the figures at one time, but were long gone by the time I was around (born in late '76)

Ha, funny-- I just sold a twin truck set from this series the other week. Neat toys, but the $$$ action on these toys is not strong (I got next to nothing for my set and I was told that is was "rare")-- I don't think they made enough of a lasting impression on a generation of kids.......Still, they are pretty cool.....

Those look far too modern to be from the 60s. What an odd line!

I know it had to feel good stumbling across this. Nothing like connecting the dots from childhood memories!

You know I think I remember seeing something on the back of a box of cereal about these things around that same time. I remember asking my grandmother how we could get them and told me we had to send in some box tops and some money but we never did it. I'm almost certain these are the same things I remember Pretty neat.

Wow, I can't believe I remembered that. Ask me something that happened last week though and I'm clueless.

Is that what those were? I vaguely remember the cereal box ad and having them in school and maybe in Sunday school. I never saw the figures though.

I distinctly remember those little construction guys in commercials back when I was a kid, but I don't recall ever seeing them in stores. For the life of me, I kept remembering these as Lego products from some reason. I know I owned or at least played with some of those blocks.
