Chris the Louisville Palace shows the Universal Monster movies on the big screen every year (usually in the summer). And the best part is the Palace is an old classic theater that includes balcony seating. This year my father-in-law and I watched Frankenstein. The place was packed out! You need to bring the whole family down next year and we'll make an evening of it!

Wish we had something like that around here to see the old classics. But the only thing in the whole county, is the 6 screen at the mall.Comment

Horror Express.
Okay, it tanked in Spain, but in other countries, it was a modest success.
Very claustrophobic and spooky; the monster was very well done, and was not what it seemed. The special effects, while minimal, were very well done for technology that was available in the 70's.
The gore was at a minimum too, but unforgettable.
It's one of those movies you HAVE to watch multiple times! As a kid, every time I saw this, I had nightmares.
Yet, I couldn't STOP watching it when it was on!JediJaidaComment

Gargoyles. Terrific made for TV movie from 1973 with early Stan Winston creature effects. Still holds up. Very spooky and atmospheric. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment
