My obsessive compulsiveness and perfectionism caused me to try and sand the glue off today. Not sure if that was a bad move or not. It kind of looks dull with a whitish look, but not too bad.

I guess I'll just keep my eyes peeled for a junker. It will be worth it, I think. Since I have the box and poster and aside from the crappy arm and glue job, the rest of the figure is pretty much mint.

Best of luck on your search, and let's see pictures when you get everything the way you want it! I know what you mean about the OCD, LOL! That's why I was so upset when I discovered my ALIEN's right arm was broken! It had been factory sealed in the box since 1979, but I had to open it if I was going to fix the arm. I'm glad I did, since it gave me a chance to learn more about this toy. It ain't sealed anymore, but at least now it's fixed and I can take it out whenever I like.

It's an imperfection, but I guess a minor one considering the overall condition....

Overall, a nice piece you have there for sure. I can see how that seam would be bugging you though.

My ex-friend stole, then sold my ALIEN on eBay, so whoever bought it, you bought stolen goods.

I just did a repair on mine- used two cotter pins and a spring. No other option seemed safe as I didn't want to risk rubber interacting with the plastic or risk rubber (or rubber-like products) failing over time. Works perfectly and is safe for the plastic.

I used plastic wires to fix mine. Still need a dome to complete it
