Heh, I'm thrilled that people dig this piece, I always thought it was something people didn't care about too much.

When I did the trade for this guy, I got pulled over at the border. I was really underslept and looked a lot like Henry Hill at the end of "Goodfellas" so they didn't buy my story and searched me.

When the inspector opened my bag, I was nervous about him wrecking the batman, he had tell me to stand on the curb twice. When he saw it, his face fell and he said "You're not a toy collector are you?" I said "yeah"

He stared at me with disgust, said "Go" and made me clean up my car.

The best thing about smuggling toys over the border (err...which may be something I have experience with) is that you could have something extremely valuable, but to a Customs officer, it's just an old toy. I remember having a boxed Shogun Warrior robot in the trunk, I just said I bought some toy robot. Customs opened the trunk and barely looked at it. You just have to worry about some ham-handed officer treating your stuff a little roughly. I know exactly where your coming from, I've had to sweat out an inspection or two in the past.

Sometimes it works the OTHER way though. A friend had a hobby shop in the US, and we used to go 'cos he'd get Japanese kits for us. We got stopped once, by an inspector that couldn't understand the concept of "model robot." We spent an hour in interrogation trying to explain.

Would anyone have a link to a repro box for this rare figure...or sell me copies or even scans of your box so i can make one? I just bought a loose non magnetic Batman and would love to have him displayed in one. Thanks in advance for any reply. (i asked Toyroom and Mego 73...but they dont have them...) 😢

Congrats on the purchase! Yeah, this is such a rare figure that I'm not sure anyone has ever scanned the box in order to make a repro one.
