glad you are able to get back to figure building, it'll be great to finally see this done.

Great to See you back at it... Would love to hear how you did the Removable Cowl... I'm working on finishing a Batman myself and came up with a cloth cowl but if I could pull yours off I'd love to try.

Darn!, now I'm going to have to try this. Did you also have to lengthen the area under the nose?

Naturally, the final figure will wear nice form-fitted spandex tights, leathery trunks, cape, gauntlets, and boots, and the removable cowl will be completed (seamlessly) with the fabric-made neck portion allowing for full articulation of the figure's ball-jointed neck.

Damn that looks nice!! For being a "simple" bat cape, it lends this figure all kinds of presence! Anxiously awaiting the final, finished look! And I'm glad to hear that your Batman will be able to turn his head!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Yes. If you look on page 2 of this thread, you'll see the several layers of strip styrene i had to apply in order to bring to cowl opening down far enough to cover the figure's nose. It is Definitely a challenge to make a cowl using one of these Pez dispenser heads. The main trick is to grind down enough material INSIDE the cowl so that it slips onto the figure's head easily, but ALSO, there needs to be a significant amount of material Ground down OUTSIDE the cowl so that it does not look oversized when worn. Making sure the cowl's walls are not too thin after all that grinding is the even bigger challenge, since a cowl with overly thin walls will be fragile and just crack apart like an egg shell when it is removed or put on.

Think how is the Lincoln Futura in 1/9 scale looking?

Sadly, the darn thing is stalled. I just haven't been able to make progress in finding an affordable way to 3D print something this big. But as the technology advances, it will be within my reach to do this. It WILL DEFINITELY happen. it's just a matter of waiting out the technology to become commercially accessible. It seems we are almost there. I'm also looking to see if any customizers here are willing to collaborate with me on this.

Good to hear. I'd be willing but don't have access to a 3D printer.
