Enlighten me on this Lost In Space piece...

Can't say that I've been a big fan of the show...but in all the years I've been collecting and associated with collectible stores I've never seen this Robby The Robot piece:

Lost in Space 1977 ROBOT B-9 Kresge Exclusive Boxed MIB - eBay (item 380178532447 end time Apr-15-10 10:48:35 PDT)

How rare is it and is it true that it is a Kresge exclusive way back in the day? Thanks.

Robby The Robot wasn't Lost In Space, (but he did do a guest spot), it was Forbidden Planet.

That's a great looking LIS Robot.

Like I said...never a big fan of the show

Wasn't there a smaller LIS item back in the 60's by Remco of this Robot? I think it was either battery operated or remote control?

I think I've seen the Remco piece at Atlantique City.

Yea that's a B9 from lost in space, actually I think it was only ever called B9 in one episode.

Yes, Remco made a LIS robot in a few odd color combinations (never show-accurate, though the show did use a bunch of re-painted Remco versions in an episode where a dozens of mini-robots make the big robot their king).

It was a bit fat, out of scale, slightly larger than 1/6 scale (I used to take the head off and put my GI Joes inside - they'd stick out the top- be like some battle robot-armor).

Here's a video of thr Remco one I found on YouTube:

They were just motorized, not RC.

This one looks like the one you saw on Ebay, and it talks!

That other one looks like it was patterned after the episode "The Mechanical Men".

That's the AHI Robot and it's the dreaded combination of being both tough and desirable.

The piece itself is not Kresge exclusive but that packaging is, obviously Kresge ordered enough to get their price tag preprinted on the box.

AHI made some killer LIS stuff in 1977.

I remember wanting one back then. Saved up some and when I went back to the store it was no longer there.
                It's all good!
