Thread: New Sgt. Slaughter from Hasbro

  1. #1

Heart New Sgt. Slaughter from Hasbro

So Hasbo has unveiled the proto versions of the Sgt. Slaughter SDCC exclusives. Both look pretty good, though some of their choices are interesting. Still if you're a fan of the Sarge or old school 80's GI Joe, you'll want to check these out. Hopefully Hasbro makes these readily available. They've typically been pretty good with their SDCC exclusives, but this one will likely be very popular.

    Sarge is coming to town

I had a love/hate relationship with Sgt. Slaughter and Joe. I liked the fact that a real person was in GI Joe, and the mail-away figure idea is always fun. I didn't like that the cartoon portrayed him as a superhuman one-man-wrecking-crew that could take 4 dozen Cobra B.A.T.S. with absolutely no help. It made the other Joes redundant.

But those are some nice looking figures. Hopefully they are going back to the 25th Anniversary style figures now that the movie has come and gone?

body construction of the movie figs was still like the 25th body. Next years joes are not RAH 25th style (some will use molds in the resolute style) but the good news is none of the new joes will user the faces of the movie actors
it sounds like the line will be a reboot along with the new comics

I''m leery about the character also but I'll buy him out of a since of nostalgia. He was better than the Fridge figure back in the day, his principle weapon was a football on a stick.

I never got that argument. I know a lot of people make it, but I never did understand it. Yeah, he was the tough Joe. But didn't Snake Eyes and Duke also regularly take out entire Cobra armies? Flint too. Everyone had their special ability, Sarge's was being tough.

I liked Sarg. on Joe over the Top Arse-Kicker Stlye.
I was so young when I saw it...
To Me, it was like the Joe's either Had Arnie on thier Team Now..., or a Super Hero.
