You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
Any dog that's smaller than cat isn't a dog![]()

I understand that those shows may be arguments for the pit bull being a passable housepet and that the only "risky" ones are ones taught
"bad things" by owners...but I'm not sure I could ever be convinced
anything other than what Mike and I have posted on the subject....
there just seems to be too many unknown variables on these animals
to make me think otherwise.
And to bring "people" in on this argument as animal defenders have done
(other than them teaching pitbulls bad things---I agree with that) is nothing but fluff rhetoric not applicable to the point being debated...
...the issue here is the animal in question and it's potential danger (or
lack thereof), not the nature of people in general.
Yeah, "some people are bad", I get it....I'd keep my eye on babysitters
too...especially ones that I invited to live in my house and be around my
children![]()
When I .... how do you say (?) .... think of my mindframe on this spaceplane, I'm Skywalker with my X-Wing like I was when I was a kid.

But we are talking about danger to humans, not rodents. Besides my dog is four pounds. He wouldn't survive a couple of weeks, let along a few days, without food and he probably wouldn't survive a fight with a rat.
I also have to agree with Mike and Hue on this.
Some dog breeds really do pose an increased risk of danger to humans. Small toy breeds, like Yorkies and tea cup Poodles, which have been bred from their beginnings purely as companion animals are just not in the same danger level as dogs like pitbulls and rottweilers which were bred as guard and attack dogs. It's in their nature it's what they were bred to do. Pitbulls inbred aggressive tendencies, size, strength and biting power is unfortunately why they've often been the dog of choice for fighting dogs. As well as a status symbol for those wanting what has become known as tough or dangerous dog.
There's also been a lot of really bad breeding going on with pitbulls specifically designed to further bring out the aggresive tendencies of the breed. Pitbull rescue groups have to be VERY careful when placing dogs because of this. Unfortunately a great many of them are unplaceable and have to be euthanized.
When getting a Pit Bull for a pet you have to be damn sure you've gotten your pit from a very reliable breeder and then you are still not a hundred percent in the clear. A friend of my mom got a pit from a reliable breeder and raised it with gentle loving care and when it became mature it became vicious and tried to kill her other dog.
There are reasons that many states have breed specific laws do to the risks of attacks from certain breeds. Many insurance companies also charge you more depending on the breeds you have.
