I love these toys. My Gram would always get me something like these every time she went out to the drug or 5 an dime stores.

I don't understand why folks keep things mint in package but decide to cut the packaging like that.
Isn't that a retailer thing? When doing release of overstock? I had a friend who worked in at a Books-a Million store and when they had to return merchandise that had not sold he ripped the covers off of the books before they were sent back. I have a couple of Star Wars paperbacks from the 90's like that. I never understood why though.
        It's all good!

I always thought retailers ripped the covers off the books, and returned the covers to distributors/home office for credit. That way they didn't have to spend as much on shipping the entire book back. If you have a coverless book, it should have been destroyed, and someone is double-dipping somewhere.

That's what I always thought anyway. I remember a comic show where a guy must have had 100 copies of Dark Knight #4 with ripped off covers.

My dad sold AHI rack toys in the 1970s, there were no returns baby, cash and carry.

              Hmmmm....

I always get apprehensive of Bat-toys articles. I live in mortal dread of "that" watergun.

I still have one of those Bat Walkie Talkies! I used to chew on the antena I'm sad to say. And the sticker is missing but I could make a new one easy enough.
