Star Trek Bridge - New Photos
Check-out these two photos...sometimes even I am amazed at the size of this project!

P.S. Wait until I start running the fiber optic
lighting through the holes in the control panels!
What I do first is heat-up the tips of the fiber
optic cable. This causes a "mushroom" or "bulb" to
form. Then I insert the back end of the cables into
the pre-drilled holes and pull them through.
When the "bulb" at the front sits flush against the
control panel, it looks exactly like a tiny light
bulb.
I then place light sources against the back ends of
the cables, concealed behind the Bridge, to light-up
the bulbs on the control panels.
This system makes it VERY simple to change the
effects of the lighting because I don't ever have to
change anything on the control panels.
I can change the colors of the bulbs, make certain
ones stay on constantly or make others blink on and
off...all remotely.
Just by changing the colors and (or) types of light
sources (blinking or steady) concealed in the back of
the Bridge.
The Bridge control panels will have literally
hundreds of lights in them, blinking on and off in
random sequences.
I can't wait to get started on that part of the
project!!!
Sincerely,
John
