    Bridge Pics

For some reason, Myspace decided to dump the blog, so here are some of the images of the second bridge which is still under construction. Still have yet to make the chairs, do some detailed console work, clean up the outside, and of course- put in the portable DVD player which will showcase scenes from the series.

    Enjoy!

      Mego Size Bridge

      Hi Matt,
Cool Bridge! Here are some of the photos I promised of the Mego sized bridge John Santoni is building. This is still a work in progress. He is making it so all the stations light up. The tube on the Helm scanner is a temporary light source, it will be changed.

I will keep you up to date on his progress.

The scale appears to be off. It looks more like 1:8 than 1:9.

Maybe, maybe not. Either way, it looks good enough to me. A Mego scaled Enterprise bridge, friggin fantastic
Can't wait to see this finished

Now that I look closer, the helm/nav next to spock looks a little big. It looks like it comes up to his chest. Oh well... It's still kind of cool.

Nah, that's the angle of the pic. The helm isn't any higher as that central piece with the red disc, looks like that comes up to his waist, maybe even a little lower

It's supposed to come to mid-thigh.

Both of these look fantastic! A lot of hard work has obviously gone into both of these designs, and it shows. Excellent work folks!

My Mego Sclae Star Trek Bridge Project

Hello all, I'm John the builder of the Mego scale Star Trek Bridge.

You are right about it being in 1/8 scale instead of 1/9 scale. It is patterned after the old AMT Bridge model kit from back in the 1960s. If you look closely at that Bridge model, you will notice that the crew model figures that came with the kit are in a slightly smaller scale in reference to the Bridge itself, than the Mego figures would be to a 1/9 scale Bridge.

I personally like the look of the AMT model and it's crew figures. The AMT model Bridge looks a little bit more spacious and a little bit "grander."

However, I do realize that I need to make some adjustments to several pieces. Most notably, as was pointed out, the center piece of the helm. I am planning on completely rebuilding that astro-navigation section. I think that adjustment will be a big improvement to the overall look.

My Bridge will have literally hundreds of working lights in it when completed. All the station panels, the helm, and the captain's chair, will have fiber optic lights that flash on and off in random sequences.

In the end, I think this Bridge will be very cool.

But, please keep in mind that I am just an amateur, building this stuff in my spare time. So don't judge it too harshly.

It was my dedication to Mego, and the Mego Star Trek figures in particular, that inspired me to attempt this project.

Wow. Just incredible. I've always had plans in my head (or intentions I should say) to build a mego scale Enterprise D bridge. However, since it is such a daunting task, I have never started it. This looks fantastic.
