That's really nice. I have the Playmates Star Trek TNG set. That would make a great companion piece.

I alos like the ability to curse like sailors propose pornographic uses of the brig scrceen on the page. Why can't we do that here?!?!?!

Looks awesome.I just handed all those figures I had to my son to play with about 6 months ago.He watches the trek cartoon and thinks the figures are super cool.
That playset would be really cool.I want one in mego scale though.I'm not a fan of the original mego one.

That is freakin' cool!! An impressive piece of work. I wish Playmates had made
                something even remotely similar.

His Megoman figure is kind of fun.

Now for my total geek moment.

I enlarged the official blueprints on a photocopier to see what a Mego scale version would come out to be and you are talking something like a 4 to 5 foot diameter width and maybe a 16 inch or so hieght. The classic bridge is bigger than you think. The Next Gen revisionists like to protray it as a submarine-like, cramped, set but it was in fact very spacious. It would be worth it to build if we could bring to Mego Meet but try fitting that in yer home! You would need to mount it sideways on a wall or have a dedicated display case for it. I wonder if they would set up a permanent display like that at the Toy Museum if we built it?

                      Ahoy there!

Hey, everybody! Matt here- I'm the dude who made this thing. So glad you all are loving it. As I was explaining to Megomuseum (Scott?), this thing really was a labor of love, and you can tell from all the detail that I have put into it. This 2nd one that I've made is much better than the first, but one thing that both have going for them is that they are in fact made to scale for the 5" Playmates figures. I think even Playmates' TNG bridge was a shrunk down version. Although it was very good, it wasn't exactly to scale- but that's not the case with these. I figured if I was going to do them, I'd have to do them right, so I'm not holding back any punches; even going so far as to make a custom DVD that will have edited parts from the show. Should be pretty neat.

By the way, I made a custom video for a fellow Myspacer, which showcases off the work I did on this piece. If you want to see it in video, you can hunt the thing down at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pRqgB33ue8

More to come! I am interested in taking on the challenge of a Mego sized bridge, but as has been stated before that would be rather large. I'll have to work out some kind of modular scheme that would allow me to break it apart or something. Maybe even into 3 or 4 pieces. We'll see. Anyway, take care, and thanks again for all the kind words!

                      I'll be back,
                      Matt

Interesting. I'll let the cat out of the bag. I've started working on a set of blueprints for a Mego sized scale of the original bridge and my figures showed it as 12" tall and about 3 1/2 feet around. Of course, I'm also stopping like the one here - I'm not planning on doing the dome that curves up.

Still, that's a very long way away. All I've gotten finished so far are the patterns for the panels on either side of the viewscreen and the main viewscreen panel itself. I've got to start plotting out angles to do just about everything else.

To keep some mystery about it, I'll say that I am planning to include some repro Mego parts (if they're available) in it as well.

                          Mego Sized Enterprise Bridge

                          Hi All,
I am new to the site. There is a lot of great stuff here! I made some translucent panels and view screens for a guy (John Santoni), who is building a Enterprise bridge for his Mego figures. I don't know if he posts here. I will ask if I can post some of the photos he has sent me. He has the base, Helm/Nav, railings, stairs, and turbolift done in the last photos he sent. Very nice work! I make backlightable panels for the ATM Command Bridge model and he had me blow them up 400%. Each station is about 15 inches long. The main viewscreen is about 7 1/2" wide. I'll see what I can do about posting the photos
