Ape Who here is an APES fan?

I'm wondering who considers themselves to be an APES fan?

I am not talking about the folks who might say "Oh yeah, I used to like that as a kid", or "Sure, I seen the movies after school", etc. Also excluding the folks who say the highly over-quoted "Take your stinking paws of me you damn dirty ape" line, which basically "everyone" knows.

I am not thinking that owning all of the MEGO APES would make you one, as there are many who own "every" MEGO just to be completists. I also do not think that just because you hoard MEGOs that it makes you one either, as there are people in all areas of collecting that become "obsessed" for awhile, then lose interest after some time.

What I'm getting at is who here would consider themselves at, or near, the level of the die-hard TREK fans for example. (No, not the stereo-typed geek in the basement dressed as a Vulcan). People who are very hard-core, not obsessed though.

Although i've seen all the films and Tv series many times, i always make a point of watching them when they're on TV. Does that count?

Even now i'm still impressed with the Ape make-up.

I like ther series well enough but not so much as to label myself a true fan. Haven't seen the entire tv series or cartoon.

I'm not a fan at all---but I feel for the real hardcore ape fan(s)
who is yearning to reply in this thread but won't do so
due to the fact that he/she is too afraid that they may be "overqualified"
(as quantified by the "obsessed geek/Vulcan" limit that apes3978 pointed
out as over-the-top in the first post)

    C'mon apes3978---- let the uber-nerds post too!

I am a hardcore Ape fan. I loved the movies and tv series as a kid and still do. I even have a few t-shirts. I remember seeing the trailer on TV when I was a kid and being shocked when I saw the scene with the apes on horses. I also remember begging my mother to see the movies. My first MEGO was Cornelius and I remember wondering "why is he wearing leotards".

    Ape

    Well let's see....

I have all the movies, and watch them when they're on TV anyway.
I recorded the series when the Sci-Fi channel aired them.
I recorded Behind the POTA w/ Roddy (RIP) McDowall.
I have the book & record sets from the movies and the series.
I have the cereal bowl and cup (and use them).
I got a kid I used to babysit into the apes (and even gave him and Astronaut and a video tape I made for his birthday).
I have all of the figures, (but not all the soldiers), and the villiage and prison chair.
I sponsored the Burke card for MM.

    Does that qualify?

I will admit, I am a Trekkie and will probably always love that more than the apes, but I was always be an apes fan.
