They do it all the time. "All original, except the suit, boots, hat, weapons, cape, insignia,...."
Yeah. The head's all original!
Same way they sell "vintage Star Wars". Vintage seems to go all the way to 2009 these days....

If it says ALL it should be 100%

I'll go one further and say 'complete' is deceptive if the figure is put together with a bunch of repro parts. To me, it's complete if only if every accessory was made by Mego in the 70s, otherwise it's missing every item currently being replaced by a 'placeholder' repro part. If I have to read a paragraph telling me everything that's fake, I'd prefer the title read 'Mego Batman.' I hate that it's gotten to the point that unless the title reads 'Complete, original, absolutely no repro parts used Mego Batman,' I have to assume the figure contains repro parts.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; the world would be a better place if repro parts didn't exist.
Seems like some sellers do this constantly and deliberately yet are somehow held in the highest esteem by many.

I disagree, I think complete is accurate. People are selling something and want full attention. If the mego is complete with a repro cape I see nothing wrong with stating the cape is repro in the description. The guy is trying to sell it, of course you promote your item. Would you advertise your car and say 2004 Chevy, leaks oil.?
Come on Zemo, hit me with a better analogy than that. I know it's a personal thing for me, and I'm probably in the minority. For me a Mego isn't complete until it's got original examples of all its accessories. Technically you're correct, I won't argue.
But if we're using car analogies, if I read 1970 Boss Mustang complete, I'd be disappointed to read the detailed description to find it had a smog 302 out of a '78 F100, an 8" rear end, and a dashboard from JCWhitney. At least see where I'm coming from?
I'd agree that "Complete is complete" that is, not missing any parts.
The description must then clarify the completeness.
"Complete and Original" implies that all (there's that word again) -
yes, ALL the part are original.

Here's a seller who is definitely misrepresenting a Mego:
Mego 8" Batgirl original, vintage - eBay (item 130363280340 end time Feb-04-10 15:52:32 PST)
The first sentence says "she is complete and 100% Mego", then farther down he says "The gloves, emblem and belt are high quality reproductions" (that line "high quality reproductions" always makes me laugh!). How, may I ask, can it be 100% Mego if reproductions are present?![]()
