Bilbo Baggins the Mego Hobbit, kinda, sorta, maybe!

Good morning. This is my lame ***** attempt at doing a Mego version of Bilbo
Baggins. The head is a Mego Wizard of Oz from a parts lot I bought from
George Ramsey, I painted the hair and eyebrows brown. The torso is T1 and the arms are T2. The pelvis and legs are from a Masters of the Universe Buzz-Off. I sculpted the feet from Apoxie Sculpt. I can't sculpt for *****, so they are pretty sucky! I painted them and glued on some craft fur. The Jacket is CTVT, the pants are from a Paul Revere figure I bought from Paul Riggs, the
shirt I made from the cuff of a long john shirt, and the belt is just a piece of
string. "Sting," is made from a blue cocktail sword, I shortened it and painted the handle bronze. "The one ring to rule them all," is a small gold hoop on a
piece of old necklace chain.

You're too hard on yourself. It looks good. It's your first one. Go to your local craft store and buy some Sculpey III and go home and make something and follow the baking instructions on the wrapper. Make hair or mold some feet or anything. It's like a buck and change for a block of it and it works just like clay but gets hard when you bake it. Paint what you make and seal with the spray sealer you can find in the paint department at Wal-Mart that's like a buck something a can. I usually use the Matte finish but the gloss one works the same way. AC Moore craft stores always have 40% off coupons in their flyers and sell Sculpey in all the colors. After that just use your imagination and you'll be surprised what you can do. Keep it up, ya gotta start somewhere. Soon you'll be casting heads and body parts with ease. I would also recommend getting DM reproes of the Cowardly Lion feet in flesh color. Sand down some of the fur detail where you dont want it. I think that would look pretty cool.

Good first try! I like the clothes and accessories, and you had a nice start on those feet. I would also put a little bit of hair on his hands. Is there any way you could use a resin head from one of the repro guys so you could sand off and/or sculpt on face and hair details? That way that Wizard head would be just a little less recognizable. Can't wait to see your next LOTR attempts. How about my favorite, that didn't show up in the movie, Tom Bombadillo?
