    crash em up racers

Does anyone remember these? It was a set of two cars, each about 4 to 5 inches long. Each came with a T-stick, which you inserted through the back. The teeth on the T-stick lined up with a gear. You could crash the cars, either to each other or the wal. The doors, wheels, hood, etc. would pop off upon impact. I tried to look these up on EBAY and Google, but could not find any reference to them.

They had that SSP action. I had a gray station wagon, and and orange junker with red doors and hood. They were second hand of coarse by the time I got them but still a ton of fun.Not a child friendly toy by todays standards I'm sure.

Smash-Up Derby was, and is, one of my top 5 toys as a kid. My brother and I played with them for hours.

thanks guys. Now that I have the name right I can try to pick up a vintage set and the new ones at TRU. The set I had as a kid was a VW and a pick-up truck. My freind down the street had a different set. He always ridiculed mine, saying a VW would be no competitor for a pick-up truck in an accident.
