Holey Sitting Superheroes, What are these?

My younger bro, Darin found these guys at mom's place. I remember them from back in the day. Still can't remember where they came from. Only number marking cast in plastic, but the stickers are copyrighted 1979. For some reason I think they may have come in a "Play-Doh set"?

They were a building toy. You had weird parts to build vehicles and stuff. They sit so they can sit in the vehicles.

I remember seeing these in a Heroe's World catalog of the time. An odd excursion for Super Hero toys, but that's what makes it cool.

Now that you mention it, they are, and not in a cool/bad way.
I think I'll drop my price down to $600 USD. Perhaps a grand is a little too high.

I don't care for them myself. My brother was most curious because he had no idea where they came from. After viewing the big set, I remembered him having it years ago. Thanks for all the help.
